What’s the difference?
Although the terms halfway houses and sober living houses are used interchangeably they have their differences. Halfway houses are mainly used for people who have been released from prison or people with mental disorders who are being reintegrated back into society. Halfway houses are for the early stage of recovery.
A sober living facility is for people who have a longer history of sobriety and have completed addiction treatment. Sober living facilities provide a stable, alcohol and drug free living environment that can alleviate part of the challenge to sustained abstinence.
Palm Coast Transitions is a sober living facility dedicated to helping our residents forge the way to becoming a self-sustaining adult.
